About
I'm Dan Remington — a commercial finance attorney based in Minneapolis, and the founder of Nokomis Capital. I've spent my career working in finance and business law, advising companies on deals, capital structures, and growth. Now I'm channeling that experience into something more personal: buying and running good businesses right here in Minnesota.
I live in South Minneapolis with my wife and two young kids, not far from the lake this company is named after. When I look at buying a business, I'm thinking about it the way a neighbor would — with genuine care for the people involved and a real stake in the community it serves.
I'm drawn to businesses with a proven track record that can thrive with dedicated, hands-on ownership. I'm especially interested in recession-resilient industries — businesses that people need regardless of the economic climate.
What We Buy
We focus exclusively on businesses operating in Minnesota — ideally in the Twin Cities metro or greater Minnesota.
We look for businesses with stable revenue history, loyal customers, and demonstrated profitability — typically $250K–$2M in annual revenue.
We're especially attracted to essential services — laundromats, self-storage, trades, and other businesses with steady demand in any economy.
Whether you're retiring, moving on, or ready for a new chapter — we offer a clean, straightforward process with respect for what you've built.
We want to keep your employees. A strong team is often the most valuable part of a small business, and we treat it that way.
We're open to deals that include real property, and actively interested in commercial real estate opportunities alongside business acquisitions.
